Fort Belvoir Tennis Festival Kicks Off 2012 Programs

Heartburn Strikes Hart-Burns Again
May 7, 2012 - The 2012 Midlothian Athletic Club Wheelchair Open ended on a beautiful Sunday afternoon when Paul Hart and Pat Burns lost the Division A doubles final to Felix Suero and Bob Barnaby. The Hart-Burns team won the doubles championship in the inaugural MAC Wheelchair Open in 2010 but has not been able to duplicate the result since then.

USTA/VA Leagues Players Inducted into the WMC Sports Hall of Fame
May 3, 2012 - Former Varsity tennis players at the College of William & Mary, and current USTA League players in Virginia, Chris Witherspoon and Margie Waters Ray were inducted into the William & Mary Hall of Fame on April 14, 2012 in Williamsburg.

JTT Growing Fast in VA; Highest Increase Occurs Along I-64 Corridor
May 1, 2012 - More than a thousand additional kids are playing Jr. Team Tennis (JTT) in Virginia compared to last season which represents greater than a 50% increase. Every league has contributed to this sudden increase, but in no areas more so than the three along Interstate 64; Charlottesville, Richmond, and Hampton Roads.
